Recommended by The Times as a ‘‘place to stay’’, the 17th Century King’s Head Inn is nestled on the Gower Peninsula and boasts 27 rustic luxury 4-star guest rooms. A history-laden adjoining bar, complete with aged wooden beams and exposed stonework, serves some of the best home-cooked food found locally, along with open fires, craft ales and an incredible selection of over 120 whiskies.

In line with a refurbishment, they asked Limegreentangerine to upgrade their brand.

How we helped

The King’s Head have built their reputation on traditional hospitality with contemporary comfort. It was, therefore, important that their guests got a sense of this when they interacted with the brand.

We paralleled the branding and identity with this same design sense. The Mark is a simply drawn medieval king, his beard forming a crest shape – modern, understated and familiar.

Tapping history

The deep blue and bronze colour palette, icons and patterns were created to give a current narrative to a 17th Century backdrop. Supporting icons lace a story of historic battles, pomp and royal court, importantly it maintains a sense of quality that aligns with the premium standard of accommodation.
